Articulating Boom Crane
CCO ABC certification - knuckle boom & loader crane operators
What ABC Covers
The Articulating Boom Crane certification (ABC) is built for knuckle-boom and loader-crane operators - the equipment you'll find on delivery trucks, utility rigs, and roll-off setups across the Gulf South. Different machine, different load chart, different exam.
Lift Tech runs ABC training as both a public class and a private on-site session. We bring the practical exam crane to you when it makes sense, or you can come to our Gonzales facility.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Articulating Boom Crane (ABC) certification?
The CCO Articulating Boom Crane (ABC) certification covers knuckle boom and loader cranes commonly used in delivery, utility, and material handling operations. It's distinct from the Mobile Crane (CCO) certification.
How long is the ABC certification course?
Lift Tech runs a 3–4 day ABC course depending on candidate experience level. Course covers load charts, OSHA standards, written exam prep, and hands-on practical exam prep.
Where can I take ABC certification with Lift Tech?
ABC certification is available at our Gonzales, LA facility and on-site anywhere in the United States. On-site is popular with delivery fleets and utility contractors.
What's the cost of ABC certification?
Pricing varies by group size and location. Call (225) 450-7605 for current rates. Group and on-site discounts available.
Does ABC require a separate practical exam?
Yes. CCO requires a written exam plus a practical exam on a representative articulating boom crane. We provide the equipment for the practical at our facility.
How long is ABC certification valid?
Five years, like all crane operator certifications. Recertification is required before expiration to keep the credential active.
