Frequently Asked Questions
How often do crane operator certifications need to be renewed?
CCO certifications are valid for five years. Recertification must be completed before your current certification expires to avoid re-taking the full new-certification process.
How long is CCO recertification at Lift Tech?
Recertification courses run 3 days at our Gonzales, LA facility. We host them monthly. Recert candidates may also join 5-day New/Add classes when the schedule fits better.
What's the difference between New/Add and Recert?
Recert is a shorter course for operators renewing an existing CCO certification. New/Add is for first-time candidates or operators adding a new crane type. Recerts can sit in New/Add classes; New/Add candidates cannot sit in Recert classes.
Can I recertify if my CCO already expired?
If your certification has lapsed past the recertification window, you'll need to take the full new-certification course. Call us at (225) 450-7605 - we'll check your dates and lay out the fastest path.
Will Lift Tech offer online recertification?
We're rolling out an online recert flow that lets you schedule, pay, receive your written exam by mail, and complete it on a proctored Zoom session. Call to get on the early-access list.
